Christ Church of Arlington /Arlington Turkey Trot 2017 Beneficiaries
Christ Church of Arlington, since our beginning, has had a long track record of serving the poor in our community. Part of our Christian mission is to bless our neighbors, and one of the main ways we do that is through partnering with the Arlington community in the annual Turkey Trot. Over the last eleven years, we have raised nearly $500,000 for various non-profits who are committed to serving those in need.
Doorways for Women and Families is the premier organization in Arlington County that serves women and children in crisis. After eleven years as a Turkey Trot beneficiary, and in light of Doorways’ projected success to meet its current goal to raise $10 million to strengthen and expand its services, it was recommended that we not include Doorways as a beneficiary in 2017, allowing us to support other organizations with financial need. As a church, we continue to support Doorways’ mission in Arlington and continue to look for ways of partnering together, including the possibility of including them as a Trot recipient in future years.
In 2017, in addition to AFAC, A-SPAN, Arlington Thrive and Bridges to Independence we have also included Young Life of South Arlington and Offender Aid and Restoration (OAR) as beneficiaries. If you would like to meet with one of our pastors, we would be happy to discuss these changes to the 2017 Trot roster. Contact us at www.ccapca.org/contact.
